Take it on every outing
Compact, lightweight, rugged and comfortable
Don't let the small size of the D5300 fool you—it delivers big-camera quality and capabilities. Like all Nikon D-SLRs, the D5300 was designed for ergonomics—every button and dial was carefully placed for comfortable, efficient operation. Yet it's big in all the right places, like its 3.2-inch swiveling Vari-angle LCD and its 24.2-megapixel DX-format CMOS image sensor. You'll take the D5300 on every adventure, which means you'll bring home more stunning views of your travels.
Shoot from any angle
Extra-large swiveling Vari-angle display
The D5300's extra-large ultra-high resolution Vari-angle LCD swivels 180° so you can shoot from exciting new angles. Hold the camera overhead for great shots over a crowd. Hold the camera down low for a fun face-to-face perspective of your pet. And create some of your best selfies yet—frame a stunning new profile pic, then upload it right to web, thanks to Wi-Fi connectivity!
Focus where you want it
Whether shooting stationary subjects, candid photos, high-speed action or Full HD video, the D5300 keeps subjects in focus. Its 39-point high-density autofocus system with 9 cross-type sensors quickly locks onto your subject, and Nikon's unique 3D-tracking uses the 2,016-pixel RGB sensor to recognize and follow it across the frame.
Catch the right moment
When photo-worthy action starts, hold down the shutter button and capture every movement, expression and feeling at 5 frames per second, even when using the Vari-angle LCD. Stop reaching for your smartphone when an important moment happens—except to share the great shot you just caught with the D5300.
Storytelling at your fingertips
Bring the image quality the D5300 produces—softly blurred backgrounds, tack-sharp details, vibrant colors—to dazzling 1080p Full HD videos. In Live View, Nikon's full-time autofocus follows your subject and keeps it sharp. A built-in stereo microphone adds high-fidelity sound to your videos, or you can add Nikon's optional accessory ME-1 stereo microphone for the highest quality sound possible.
Pictures as your eyes see them
The D5300 features exceptional metering and onboard intelligence, freeing you to focus on the composition of your shots and, most importantly, the moment that's taking place. Nikon's outstanding Scene Recognition System analyzes your shooting situation, compares it to an onboard database of thousands of scenes, and automatically determines the most appropriate auto exposure, i-TTL flash exposure, white balance and autofocus settings.
Get creative with Image Effects
Make a single vivid color pop in a black & white photo, turn a landscape into a toy model, shoot portraits that look like paintings, make your D5300 behave like a toy camera (new) and more, then share your creations with your smartphone or tablet.
Embrace highlights and shadows
Built-in HDR automatically combines two photos into one highly dynamic image, and new subject-based D-Lighting automatically brightens shadowy areas on your subjects—great for portraits.
Edit your shots in the camera
Perfect the photos you share with D5300's Retouch Menu. Easily crop, apply filters, effects and more right in the camera—no additional software needed—then instantly share your edited shot with your smartphone or tablet.
Great results in tricky situations
Even if you're new to D-SLR photography, getting great results in difficult situations couldn't be easier—just select from 16 common Scene Modes for your situation, or let the camera pick for you.
Define your own style
The D5300's easy to use Picture Controls let you alter your color palette and add a personal touch with six settings available; Standard, Neutral, Vivid, Monochrome, Portrait and Landscape—customize the look and feel of your photos and HD videos.
Change your view of the world
The D5300 is compatible with Nikon's complete collection of remarkable NIKKOR lenses and optimized for DX-Format NIKKOR lenses. Expand your capabilities and creativity over time by growing your own collection.

Nine cross-type sensors in the center offer superior accuracy even when light and contrast are scarce. Seven center focus points work all the way down to f/8 for extended AF functionality with teleconverters and long-reach lenses. Switch between 9, 21 or 39 point AF, allowing for compositional freedom. D610's Scene Recognition System's subject identification and tracking information means enhanced performance by 3D Tracking and Auto Area AF. When shooting photos or HD video in Live View, Nikons responsive contrast-detect AF activates for accurate fulltime autofocusing.
Exceptional performance and quality
Flawless metering and onboard intelligence
The D610 delivers consistently beautiful images, thanks to Nikon’s intelligent Scene Recognition System with 3D Color Matrix Metering II. Its 2,016 pixel RGB sensor evaluates every scene, taking into account brightness, contrast, subject distance and the scene colors, all within the time it takes to press the shutter release button. That data is then referenced against an onboard image database for consistently accurate exposures, auto white balance, i-TTL flash and subject-tracking autofocus performance.
Broadcast-quality Full HD video at your fingertips
Two video formats in one camera
Nikon is committed to developing HD-SLRs that empower and inspire filmmakers and video enthusiasts, and the D610 is proof of that. Shoot 1080p HD videos with selectable frame rates of 30p, 25p or 24p and MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 compression. Bend time with 720p HD at 60p, 50p or 30p for ultra-smooth video playback of fast moving subjects, or create slow-motion footage during post processing. Manually adjust ISO, shutter speed and aperture, activate Live View shooting's fulltime AF with face-priority and subject tracking or manually focus. Experience dedicated inputs for an optional stereo mic and headphones for monitoring sound, still image exporting, uncompressed recording of video via HDMI out to an external recorder, simultaneous live view on external monitors and much more. Multi-area mode Full HD D-Movie gives you compositional freedom using FX or DX movie formats. Enhance your video with the dramatic perspectives and depth-of-field control of Nikon's full line of NIKKOR interchangeable lenses, and you’ll dazzle with every video project.
Wi-Fi camera control and mobile sharing
Optional WU-1b wireless mobile adapter
With Wi-Fi compatibility, sharing photos is easier than ever. Connect the optional WU-1b Wireless Mobile Adapter and wirelessly transfer photos to your smartphone, tablet or any compatible Wi-Fi enabled device. Use your smartphone to instantly upload your shots to the web or email them to a friend. Install Nikon's free Wireless Mobile Adapter Utility and remotely control the D610—and shoot from your smartphone or tablet!
Lighting studio optional
The D610’s built-in pop-up flash offers up new shooting possibilities that other cameras simply can't match—and not just in low-light situations. Even well lit subjects can benefit from a balanced fill flash for extra depth and dimension. And since the D610’s flash integrates with Nikon’s i-TTL system, it can act as a Commander and communicate crucial exposure information to two groups of remote flashes across three channels for accurate lighting and exceptional results. When you need the extra power, add an optional accessory Nikon Speedlight for more lighting possibilities.
A hobby that grows with you
Nikon’s HD-SLR system is endlessly expandable. From legendary NIKKOR lenses and Nikon Speedlights for endless creative expression to the WU-1b Wireless Adapter for Wi-Fi sharing and camera control, your system can grow with you.

Features Explained
High Image Quality
Nikon makes it possible with the perfect combination of image sensor, image-processing engine, Picture Control technology and NIKKOR lenses
High-megapixel sensor: where the sharpness begins
Thanks in part to an extremely high pixel count, the D5300 achieves amazingly sharp, rich details and smooth, natural skin tones. One of the main contributors to superior image quality is D5300's newly developed cutting-edge Nikon DX-format CMOS image sensor. Incredible color. Incredible detail. When it comes to preserving your most cherished memories, the D5300 delivers both.
Nikon DX-format CMOS image sensor [NEW]
The benefits of leaving the optical low-pass filter out
In order to maximize the high resolution realized by its high pixel count, the D5300's image sensor unit does not integrate an optical low-pass filter (OLPF). This system successfully brings out NIKKOR lenses' sharp rendering performance to make full use of the 24.2-megapixel resolution achieved with the Nikon DX-format CMOS sensor, delivering stunning reproduction of details with depth.
Faithful color reproduction, low noise and fast operational speeds: the EXPEED 4 image-processing engine [NEW]
The full potential of the 24.2 effective megapixels is on your side. Nikon's new EXPEED 4 image-processing engine gives your pictures and movies exquisite color. This unique system runs through countless operations at lightning-fast speeds to produce images of exceptional quality. Expect less noise, more faithful tones and true blacks, even when shooting in low light or dimly lit interiors. Nikon's exclusive technology also helps the D5300 achieve a standard ISO sensitivity range of 100 to 12800, and it's extendable to an ISO 25600 equivalent (Hi 1), so you can avoid the effects of camera shake by using faster shutter speeds in low light. It also delivers outstanding color reproduction and tonal gradation at all sensitivity ranges. Even at high ISO settings, Nikon's superior noise-reduction function realizes beautiful textures with minimized color noise. EXPEED 4 manages massive amounts of data at surprisingly high speeds, so you can enjoy uninterrupted shooting, knowing that the camera is handling all of the hard work for you.

High-precision Scene Recognition System with 2016-pixel RGB sensor for finer subject analysis
When taking pictures, you can be sure that the D5300 will adapt to diverse shooting or lighting situations. Its incredibly accurate 2016-pixel RGB sensor collects brightness and color data that Nikon's exclusive Scene Recognition System analyzes meticulously. Everything in your shot is then used to calculate the precise available light exposure, flash exposure, autofocus and white balance — all measured before releasing the shutter.
Scene Recognition System
Accurate light source identification with Auto white balance
Thanks to the new EXPEED 4 image-processing engine, the D5300 achieves more accurate white balance. The camera utilizes color and brightness information of the shooting scenes acquired by light source identification of the Scene Recognition System for auto white balance. It identifies the light source by referencing the in-camera database for auto white balance. In this way, it can determine the ideal white balance even with difficult light sources.
Live view shooting/Vari-angle LCD monitor
Capture it from a dramatic point of view
Unique angles make exceptional pictures: Wide 8.1-cm/3.2-in. vari-angle LCD Monitor
Sometimes the best angle for a picture may not be at eye level, but with most cameras or smart devices it is difficult to compose from a high or low perspective. For truly unique points of view, try the D5300's vari-angle LCD monitor. The wide 8.1-cm/3.2-in., approx. 1037k-dot super-sharp and bright LCD monitor opens horizontally from 0° to 180° and can flip up and down from +180° to -90°. Now it's just as easy to shoot above a crowd as it is to compose close to ground level, while still viewing the full image displayed across the entire screen.
Seamless autofocus performance in live view
The D5300 boasts improved autofocus performance for both live view shooting and video recording. The improved subject-tracking AF and full-time-servo AF (AF-F) keep your subjects in sharp focus as they move. Face-priority AF is also available. In combination with NIKKOR lenses, the D5300 delivers fast, accurate autofocus during video shooting.
Three servo modes selectable focusing that suits your subject
Single-servo AF (AF-S)
Suitable for stationary subjects such as landscapes, architecture and flowers.
Full-time-servo AF (AF-F)
Convenient for shooting moving subjects such as an athlete or pet. Available in both live view mode and movie recording. Camera focuses continuously as the subject moves.
Manual focus (MF)
Suitable for subjects that are usually difficult for autofocus systems to handle, such as an animal in a cage or a person in the shade with the sun in the background.
Four AF-area modes in live view selectable according to your subject
Face-priority AF
Suitable for focusing on someone's face such as for a commemorative photo.
Wide-area AF
Suitable for handheld shooting such as for a landscape. The focus point can be moved to a desired point within the frame.
Normal-area AF
Convenient for pinpoint focus, such as when shooting a close-up of a flower or other small subjects. Using a tripod is recommended for more precise focusing.
Subject-tracking AF
After focusing is activated, the focus point tracks the subject automatically. Suitable for moving subjects such as children or pets.

Nikon D4S Digital SLR Camera - 16.2MP (Black)
- 3.2" TFT LCD, Face-Priority AF, Live View, Full HD 1080p - Body Only
Overview
The evolution of a masterpiece.
The course of modern imaging has been forged by the talent and ingenuity of working professionals, but also by the introduction of a few cameras so innovative and forward-thinking, they redefined what's possible. The Nikon D4 has been such a camera. And now D4S proves that a great thing really can get better, with remarkable enhancements throughout the entire workflow, dazzling new levels of speed, performance, ISO sensitivity and, of course, the superior image quality of a Nikon camera.

Speed and performance
Enhancements through the entire workflow
How do you make a revolutionary camera better? Improve its speed, precision and efficiency without sacrificing the features that make it exceptional. D4S builds on the success of D4 with 30% faster image processing and substantial energy savings—capture up to 3,020* stills on a single charge—an extended standard ISO range (100-25,600) with enhanced noise reduction, and improved tonal range and smoother gradations. Shoot 11 fps for approx. 200 shots at full resolution with AE and AF functionality. For faster initial subject capture, use five AF sensors as a single focus point with the new Group Area AF setting. Transfer files faster than the D4 with new 1000 Base-T (Gigabit) wired LAN, and increase that speed further by shooting a new smaller RAW SIZE S format. Perform at your peak—D4S will keep up.
Based on CIPA Guidelines
Nikon image quality
Stunning views of decisive moments
Like its predecessor, the D4, the D4S delivers a level of image quality that elevates the power of any story. An improved 16.2MP FX-format CMOS image sensor is paired with Nikon's spectacular new image-processing engine, EXPEED 4, for truly phenomenal speed and performance in the field. The combination achieves outstanding ISO sensitivity, faithful, vibrant color, natural depth, subtle nuanced tones from pitch black to snow white and smoother gradations in both stills and videos. Nikon's proven 51-point AF system and 3D Color Matrix metering III with a 91,000-pixel RGB sensor provide fast, accurate autofocus and metering. Enhanced Picture Control tone curves deliver more depth and clearer color rendition in "Standard" mode. For viewfinder shooting, a new custom setting lets you toggle Face Detection on and off as the situation requires for improved exposure bias around your subjects. You can even measure White Balance against any point in the frame.
Nikon flagship ISO performance
Noise-free shooting from ISO 100 to 25,600
Photographers go where their assignments take them, and this often means working in the high-contrast glare of the midday sun, the low-light at dawn or the poorly illuminated interiors of a sporting venue. Nikon flagship D-SLRs have long been recognized by professionals for their clean performance at high ISO settings, and D4S takes that performance to the next level. With a specially designed 16.2MP FX-format CMOS image sensor engineered to collect more light and render higher image quality plus the power of EXPEED 4, you can shoot sharp photos from ISO 100 all the way up to 25,600. The ISO range can be extended to a mind-boggling ISO 409,600 equivalent at Hi 4 for overcoming the most challenging lighting conditions. Enjoy great flexibility in your approach to fulfilling challenging assignments.
The choice for pros on the go
A camera that works as hard as you do
D4S is designed to keep you shooting wherever the story brings you, even after others have packed their bags for the day. Its increased ISO range means you'll be able to capture brilliant photos and videos in whatever light is available. Enjoy improved ergonomics and operability as well as flagship levels of durability and reliability—key for those who spend all day with a camera around their neck. Select from five image area modes while shooting stills in Live View: FX, DX, 1.5x, 5:4 and 1.2x. A new RAW SIZE S setting allows for shooting 12-bit uncompressed Nikon NEF files that are smaller and more easily manageable—speeding up the entire workflow. When you're racing a deadline at a major event, D4S can transfer images up to 10x faster than previously possible with its 1000 Base-T Ethernet. D4S is the camera for today's working pro.
Today's stories are being told through stills, video, audio and exciting combinations of each. D4S is a multimedia powerhouse, allowing you to capture stunning and smooth 1080/60p video. Shoot scenes with tremendous depth and sharpness as well as with shallow depth of field or bokehand even capture 2MP stills simultaneously while recording video. For video, 2.7x Crop Mode extends the reach of lenses and produces outstanding video quality and detail. D4S adds real-time audio adjustments during recording, selectable sound ranges like Wide Range and Voice Range and improved wind noise reduction on the internal mic. Adjust color settings on the camera's LCD to better match an external monitor. Capture smoother Time Lapse sequences with reduced flicker and improved interval control (up to 9,999 shots), and even simultaneously record to internal CF or the latest high speed XQD cards and an external recording device. Create stories that move us.
Improved control and comfort
Nikon engineers worked closely with professionals to achieve optimal ergonomics with the D4, and D4S improves upon that design. The grip has been reshaped, making the camera easier to hold for a wider range of hand sizes and more comfortable during prolonged use. An anti-slip pattern has been added to the joy stick controls for superb fitting, and a larger card slot cover provides additional grip when shooting vertically or horizontally. Several custom settings have been added or improved, making D4S more intuitive to use, and like D4, most of the buttons on the rear are illuminated for easier adjustments in low-light situations.
Ready for your toughest assignments
D4S is designed to go wherever your assignments takes you—even severe conditions. Its lightweight yet durable magnesium alloy body features careful weather sealing and has been optimized for resistance against dust, moisture and electromagnetic interference. Its shutter has been tested to 400,000 cycles, and an improved mirror balancer provides better visibility in the viewfinder during high-speed continuous shooting and reduced mirror vibration. Like the D4, its large optical viewfinder offers 100% frame coverage and approx. 0.7x magnification for bright, clear views of your frame.
Nikon's supercharged EXPEED 4
Optimized for high-resolution HD-SLRs, the EXPEED 4 image processing engine achieves a remarkable new level of speed, image quality and low-light capabilities in both stills and video recording. It's also exceptionally energy efficient, prolonging the camera's ability to endure extended assignments. It delivers faithful, well-saturated color, natural depth and subtle, nuanced tones from pitch black all the way to snow white. In dim lighting at high ISO settings, the camera's intelligent noise reduction lowers noise without degrading image sharpness. High-speed 16-bit image processing delivers smooth gradation with abundant tone and detail that can be applied to image integrity for a diverse range of uses. EXPEED 4 has been optimized for video as well, suppressing moiré, reducing false colors and minimizing "jaggies". Noise reduction technology specifically designed for video preserves clarity and sharp edges—even in low light.
The centerpiece of an exceptional system
The strength of a camera is influenced by the quality of its peripheral componentslenses, flashes, accessories and softwareand Nikon's imaging system is second to none. For over 80 years, legendary NIKKOR lenses have set the bar for quality in optics. Nikon's innovative i-TTL (intelligent Through The Lens) technology has revolutionized the accuracy of its Creative Lighting System, and D4S optimizes pre-flash data even further for improved performance. Nikon Software provides photographers with excellent tools for tethering, managing images, editing and post production work, and more; and a growing collection of accessories like the ME-1 External Stereo Microphone, WR-1 Wireless Remote Control, WR-R10 and WR-T10 controller and transmitter, the WT-5A Wireless Transmitter and so much more extend the capabilities of D4S in thrilling new ways.

Nikon's Full-frame sensor raises the bar on image quality
Stunning detail and NIKKOR lenses
Passionate photographers who seek uncompromised full-frame, high-resolution performance rely on Nikon FX-format HD-SLRs. With a level of performance only bested by Nikon's own D800 series D-SLRs, D610's 24.3 megapixel FX-format CMOS sensor, wide dynamic range and high S/N (signal-to-noise) ratio captures every detail with lifelike sharpness and low noise throughout its wide ISO range. Low-light performance is synonymous with Nikonshoot crystal clear images from ISO 100 to 6400, expandable down to 50 and up to 25,600 for extreme situations. EXPEED 3 processing system manages all that data with remarkable speed and accuracy, enabling up to 6 fps continuous shooting at full resolution in both FX and DX formats. Whether shooting people, landscapes or close-upsyou'll marvel at D610's faithful color reproduction. Add Nikon's newest selection of affordable fast f/1.8 primes, compact wide ratio zooms with VR image stabilization or tele- and supertelephoto lenses and you'll see the full potential that the D610 offers.
Remarkable AF performance with compatibility up to f/8
f/8 sensitivity benefits action and wildlife photography
One of the keys to capturing razor-sharp images is a fast, precise autofocus system, and the D610 has one of the best. 39 tightly packed focus points with wide-area AF coverage offer endless compositional possibilities.
