Legria HF R28 features Advanced Zoom that utilizes both optical and digital zoom with no loss of quality. Spherical aberration is minimized with a single aspherical lens.

Superimposes decorations added by user through the touch panel onto the images and then records the resulting images. Users can select decoration settings using pen & stamp, animation, date / time & title or image mix (mixed image selection).

Evaluate the scenes shot with a rating. Rating can be set in the shooting mode or playback mode. Scenes can be played back or deleted by screening the rated scenes. Also applicable in Videosnapshot and story creator function.

Mixes recorded sound and background music and plays back the mixed sound. The mix balance level can be set to any one of 15 steps.

Plays back the last 4 seconds of the image after recording is completed

HDMI can be set to output 1080p video footage and still images for playback on 1080p compatible HDTVs

Automatically recognizes the type of scene and subjects you're shooting based on the presence of people, distance to subjects, brightness, colour, and motion information. Smart auto shooting mode function entrust detailed settings to the camcorder, similar to the shooting modes already available in Canon's range of PowerShot & Digital IXUS cameras. Convert HD videos to Standard definition (SD) directly from the camcorder itself. The resulting SD videos can be burned directly to DVD or uploaded to the internet.

When the built-in memory becomes full, the camcorder automatically switches to SD cards as the recording media. No need to worry about missing the action when media is switched.
