Low power consumption and compactness
The energy-saving ECM-HW2 matches the recording time of the previous model, but requires only half the battery capacity, successfully enabling smaller and lighter microphone design. Battery warning lamp
When the receiver detects a microphone battery alarm, it shows an alarm on the receiver. The camera operator can always anticipate a battery shortage, which allows a timely battery change so as not to miss an important moment of recording.
Volume adjustment buttons

5 Microphones and 5.1 Channel Surround Sound
The HS20 is equipped with five electret condenser microphones. The center mic helps capture the sound source and distance accurately, so you get a more 3-dimensional effect than you get with conventional systems, which capture all sounds from the front. You get a realistic sound space that's a perfect match with the true-to-life HD images.
Highlight Playback
The Highlight Playback function is designed for users who want to view recorded images as quickly as possible. It detects zooming, panning, scene changes, increases and decreases in sound level, faces, etc., in recorded images as "highlights" by using the I.I.S. (Intelligent Index System). Then, it automatically plays back the detected highlight scenes according to a set time interval. It even allows the user to select music stored in the camcorder and plays it together with the video as background music. Faces in the center of the frame serve as the reference for adjustments, but the function can detect up to 15 faces in all.
Easy Uploading to YouTubeTM
Step 1 : Shoot
YouTube limits videos to 10 minutes. In Web mode the camcorder uses a 10-minute countdown system, so you're assured that the recording won't be too long for YouTube, and you won't have to edit it down after shooting.
Step 2: Connect
The Upload mode in the VideoCam Suite is automatically activated as soon as the camcorder is connected to the PC.
Step 3: Upload
To upload, simply choose the image file you want and click the Upload button. Encoding is no longer a hassle, as the software does all the work for you.
Auto Power LCD
The LCD brightness can be adjusted manually to suit the surroundings. In Auto mode, the LCD brightness is adjusted automatically in 16 smooth steps, depending on the surroundings. In darker rooms it adjusts to a lower brightness, making it easier to frame the shot. Outside, it adjusts to almost twice the brightness for easy viewing even on sunny days.
Pure Colour Engine
The Pure Colour Engine converts the CCD output signal from a complementary color signal into an RGB signal at an early stage and extracts the low-frequency luminance component from the RGB signal. This innovative engine also achieves truly superb color reproduction for high-zoomed pictures.
